Autumn Week 8

Year 2 Assembly

What a busy week this has been!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported the children with their assembly, they worked really hard! We think they did incredibly well learning their parts straight after a busy half term holiday.

We’d also like to thank everyone for sending in their “Wild Reading” photos! They look absolutely fantastic and have created a lovely display outside Douglas and Pine classrooms which the children and staff really enjoy looking at.

This week we have begun reading “The Pea and the Princess” by Mini Grey. This is an alternate version of the original story, told from the perspective of the Pea! We have written horrible instructions full of icky ingredients, created freeze frames of less than impressive princess and written questions to different characters. We will finish the story next week.

In Numeracy we’ve been collecting data about the children’s favourite animals. We have learnt to tally correctly and then use this information in a block diagram.

Don’t forget that next Friday in non uniform day for children in need (10th November).
