Day four!

The penultimate day!

Today we had our final day of activities. Groups 1, 2 and 5 went canoeing and thoroughly enjoyed soaking each other with water. The instructors showed the children different ways to paddle and steer the canoes as a team. At the end, the children enjoyed a rather wet and playful water fight!

Groups 3 and 4 completed the BLT task and went gorge scrambling. It was great to see the children challenging themselves and stepping outside of their comfort zones. They were taking great responsibility for looking after and encouraging members of their team.

Every day we have been treated to cakes and squash upon returning from our activities. For our evening meal tonight, we had roast chicken (or roast quorn) with potatoes, carrots and peas. This was followed by a delicious apple crumble and custard.

Throughout the trip, all the staff have been really impressed with the children's fantastic attitude and behaviour. We have seen how the children have developed their independence and resilience throughout the week, taking responsibility for all of their kit and respecting the centre and all of the children and staff who are in it. Well done Year 6!
