History of Paddox School - Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this. Special thanks to Mrs Goode who is co-ordinating everything and interviewing people. The Acorn site will be open to visitors on Tuesday 6 th and Wednesday 7 th July between 3.20 and 6.30 p.m. and on Friday 9 th July between 2 and 3 p.m. This will be your last opportunity to say goodbye to the site before it closes.
| End of Term – School will now close on Wednesday 21 st July. This is to enable staff to pack up the Acorn site ready for the move on the Thursday and Friday. We also have to pack up a number of rooms on the Oak site and re-locate them ready to move Year 2 into the Oak site building. We cannot do this with children in school. Parents should also note that school will re-open on Wednesday 8 th September. The handover of the new building will not take place until the Summer holiday and we need the time at the start of the new school year, to set out the classrooms, school re-organisation and safety of the site. |
Changes to Come – From September onwards all parents will be asked to wait on the playgrounds at the back of the school building. Please can I ask you not to wait by the gates or on the footpath. The safety fencing has now been put in, down the drive, so please do not walk on the roadway.
From September onwards there will be no such thing as ‘PE days'. Children will require PE kit to be in school EVERY day. When you are buying new uniform you will need to take into account that more lessons will take place outside, requiring spare jumpers and jogging bottoms.
St Georges Church Car Park – We have received a letter from members of the church requesting that parents DO NOT use the church car park. It is a private car park, solely for the use of the church and church hall.
Go 2 by 2 – We were to have taken part in this new scheme which encourages children to choose healthier ways of travelling to school. Unfortunately despite several phone calls, we still have not received further information and paperwork for this.
Moving House – If you are moving house and your child will not be returning to Paddox in September could you please let us know as we are having enquiries for places in all year groups.
| Midday Supervisor – We are looking to appoint a new midday supervisor from September. If you are interested please contact Mrs Townsend or Mrs Hall in the office. Applications should be in by Friday 2 nd July. |
School Admissions – As from September 2010 the local authority will be dealing with ALL admissions. The closing date for applications for children who are due to start reception in September 2011 is 17 th January. Parents/carers will not be sent application forms but are asked to apply on-line at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/admissions

Summer Fair - Saturday 17th July
Sports Day
KS1 and Reception (Acorn site) Monday 19th July at 9.30 a.m.
KS2 (Oak site) Monday 19th July at 1.30 p.m.
KS1 and Reception will be on the Oak site field as usual.
Year 6 Leavers Assembly - Tuesday 20th July 9.10 a.m.
