PADDOX PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
2nd October 2008
Parent Interviews – All parent interviews next week will be held on the Oak Site. A map will be put in the entrance hall to help you to find the rooms. On Wednesday 8th October, I will not be available to speak with anyone at the start of the evening, as I will be at the girls football tournament until approximately 6.00 p.m.
View the Changes – I would like to invite parents to come into school on the Oak Site this Friday, 3rd October between 3.20 p.m. and 3.40 p.m. to look round the alterations to the building. The change that is catching many parents out is the location of the new office. When you see the building, I am sure that you will agree the changes are a big improvement.
Charity Concert at St. Georges Church – Our Year 5 pupils will be taking part in a short concert with St Andrews Benn Primary School , at St Georges Church on Thursday 16th October at 6.30 p.m. Tickets cost £1.
Cycle Training – Each of the Year 4 classes are doing a cycle skills course over the next week. This is run by the Road Safety Department from Warwick.
Photographs – Just another reminder that photographs are being taken this Friday.
Travel Surveys – Thank you to the parents who have returned their travel surveys. They have been sent away for analysis.
PSHE & C Policies – Over the next few weeks we will be displaying draft copies of our updated policies on the school notice boards and the web site. These are based on the Healthy Schools Policies. We would welcome feedback from parents.
Once the travel survey has been analysed, we will have completed all parts for our Healthy Schools Award and will be sending it off for accreditation. This replaces the Bronze award that we already hold.
KS2 – On Wednesday, pupils on the Oak site watched a short travelling theatre production of ‘Pack Up Your Troubles'. A play based on family life during World War 1, and then joined in with the old war time songs at the end. This fitted in with the Year 4 topic to be studied shortly. It was well presented and enjoyed by everyone.
FOPS AGM – Also another reminder that the Friends Of Paddox School are having their AGM on Wednesday 15th October at 2.15 p.m. on the Oak Site. Please come along and support them, (it will only be a short meeting) and have a cup of coffee and a chat.
Harvest Assembly – will be on Wednesday 22nd October in the Oak Site hall. On the next newsletter there will be a reply slip to indicate how many seats you will require. Just so we have an indication as to how many chairs we need to put out.
