Parent Interviews will take place on Tuesday 20th and Thursday 22nd October. You should have returned your form to school and appointments will be sent home Wednesday. Interviews will last 5 minutes and for safety reasons, they will all take place on the Oak site. Children’s work will not be available but discussions about progress will take place, as we have done in previous years.
Art Exhibition – This is an exciting opportunity to see your child’s art work on display. Please come along to see the quality of the work on display in our ‘School Art Gallery’ from 2.45 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. on Tuesday 20th October. Please read the separate letter that your child will be bringing home.
Information Needed – On Parent’s Evenings we will have a questionnaire for parents in the entrance hall and a suggestion box. Please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire, as I need clearer information from parents about what additional information you would like to have. Although the previous questionnaire talked about communication, it did not help me by breaking that down into what you would like. There will also be a separate questionnaire for Reception parents about our induction process. This is so that we can make changes if we need to, with regard to the information that we provide parents with.

Curriculum Information – Weekly curriculum information for Recp–Y2 is posted on the windows on the Acorn site to tell you what the children are working on. We are trying to find a way of communicating with you about the Key Stage 2 curriculum
Building Work – Work for the new building is progressing well and is ahead of schedule thanks to the good weather. They are building up some low walls ready to concrete the floors.
Harvest Assembly - This will take place on Wednesday 21st October at 9.10 a.m. Please fill in the slip at the bottom of this letter indicating how many seats you would like, to help us with our planning. This year we are asking each child to bring a tin or something similar for harvest (in date please!). These will then be distributed to local elderly persons centres. There will not be a charity collection this year.
Half Term – The half term holiday is 26th October to 31st October.
Data Checking Sheets – The office are in the process of updating your child’s records. When you get the print-out please check the details that we hold for your child. Make any amendments and return the sheet to school. It is very important that contact telephone numbers are up to date please, to enable us to contact you should your child be unwell or have an accident.
Talk Homework – Following our ‘INSET’ day, we have introduced “big writing” on Fridays. (Different types of writing e.g. stories, recounting, letters).
The children will have a “talk” homework on Thursday evenings, when they should be talking to you about what they are going to write about in their “big writing” session on Fridays.
Photographs – Please return photograph orders to school by 20th October. Any returned after this date will incur a surcharge as detailed on your pack.
Year 6 Secondary School Applications – The closing date for these is 23rd October. Please send your forms to Warwick and not school. Applications can be made on-line at www.warwickshire.gov.uk/admissions
Children’s Names
Under no circumstances are parents to ask my staff for lists of names of children to facilitate social events e.g. birthday parties and Christmas cards. These will not be provided by school.
