Acorn Site party at lunch time instead of normal school dinner
Oak Site party in the afternoon

School closes for Christmas

Christmas Fayre

Friends of the School are organising a Christmas Fayre. You should have all received the letter from FOPS asking for donations and telling you about various stalls and the raffle for food hampers. This is one of the main fund raisers for the year and we look forward to seeing you all there and getting into the Christmas spirit.

Parent Governor

We have vacancies for two parent governors. You would be required to attend one full governors meeting per term and one sub committee meeting per term. If you think you would like to support the school in this role, please contact Mrs Hall in the Oak Site office for further information.

Notice Board

There is a new school notice board on the Oak Site. This is situated on the fence opposite the door that the children go in and out of. We will try to put copies of the latest newsletters on it together with other relevant bits of information, sometimes from outside organisations. Please take a look sometimes and see if there is anything you may be missing.

Year 6 Residential

Year 6 have recently come back from their residential visit to Beaumanor Hall activity centre in Leicestershire. They are still talking about it now! Everyone had a fantastic time, learning to rock climb, canoe, do bridge building and archery.

Children in Need

On Friday we will support this worthy cause by having an ‘Odd Sock Day', in return for a contribution to the Children in Need Appeal.

Clothes

Our collection of lost property is ever increasing because clothes are not named. With the onset of winter please make sure that your child wears a coat to school and that it is named. There is always more than one child with the same coat.

Sports

The netball and football matches/training has ceased now with the dark nights coming. We will start again a few weeks into the New Year.

Christmas Performances

Letters will be going out nearer the time regarding the issue of tickets. Please follow the instructions carefully as the allocation of these is very time consuming. Please also bear in mind that we are restricted by fire regulations as to the number of parents we are allowed to admit to any one performance, which is why we have to allocate tickets.

Invitation to look round

I would like to invite parents to look round the Oak site this Wednesday, 14th  November, between 3.20 p.m. and 3.45 p.m. This will give parents a chance to look at displays and changes that we have made in school.
