PADDOX PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
22nd September 2009
FOPS – The next meeting of the Friends of Paddox School (PTA) will be Tuesday 29th September at 8.00 p.m. in the Paddox Pub. They would welcome more members to join their ‘happy little band’ to help organise fund raising events such as the Christmas fair and the summer fete. Please go along if you can.
Photographs – The photographer will be in school taking individual photographs on Friday 2nd October. As always we will take children from the Oak site to have their photographs taken with siblings on the Acorn site. All children will have individual photographs taken as well.
Community Newsletter – Later this term our pupils will be working with their peers at other local schools to design and produce a community newsletter. The newsletter will be produced termly and will be a useful source of information for the local community.
This exciting project will enable the children to work in partnership with pupils from other schools and the wider community. To make the project sustainable they are looking for sponsorship from businesses. If you know of a business who may be interested in sponsoring this project or paying for advertising space please contact Jo Fricker, Extended Services Co-ordinator on 07964 293236 or at frickerj@ashlawn.org.uk
FOPS Photographs – As last year the Friends of the School have arranged for a photographer to come into school on Tuesday 13th October from 3.00 p.m. ‘til 5.00 p.m. to take family photographs. You do not need an appointment, just come along to the Oak site dining hall.
Rugby Library – Rugby library are having a “Fantastic Fun with Words Family Fun Day” on Saturday 26th September, 10.30a.m. – 3.30p.m. Drop in! Events throughout the day including storytellers and comedians, face painting and special visits from Where’s Wally and The Gruffalo. £2.50 per child, adults free. All ages welcome but under 8’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Parent Questionnaires
Thank you to all the parents who took time to complete the questionnaires that we sent out last term. We will use the results of this to help write the Development Plan for this year. We are going to introduce an extended schools section on our website in the next few weeks. This means that you will be able to visit our website to find out more about what is on offer in the area. We write a newsletter every fortnight to keep parents informed about what is happening in school. We usually send out newsletters on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays and they are always printed on coloured paper so that you can distinguish them from other documents. A copy of the newsletter will also be put in the noticeboard on the Oak site and in the library window on the Acorn site. We are going to have some more parent noticeboards on the Oak site as well this term but there is little point on the Acorn site for such a short time. The noticeboard that we have has been damaged by the wind and we have had to try to repair it. Copies of the latest newsletter are also available on the website.
