PADDOX PRIMARY SCHOOL NEWSLETTER
25 September 2007
Parent Teacher Interviews for this term will take place on Tuesday 16th October between 3.30 p.m. and 5.45 p.m. OR Thursday 18th between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. All interviews will take place on the Oak site because of security. We will put up a notice in the entrance hall to indicate which rooms Acorn site teachers can be located in.
This will be an opportunity for you to talk with your child's new teacher and to discuss how your child is getting on, in the same way as other years. Books will not be available for parents to look at. Each interview will last approximately 5 minutes. Should you need more time a further appointment could be made at a later date.
Please return one form per family with the eldest child and write the names of ALL the children and teachers you wish to see, on the appropriate reply slip attached, by Friday 5th October 2007.
‘Fruit Scheme' for the Oak site children
The fruit scheme will start again after half term. As the fruit has to be ordered two weeks in advance, we require you to commit to the next half term and also to pay in advance. The cost is 50p per week. If your child does not have their fruit for whatever reason, there would be no credits.
Payment - £4.00 must be sent into school in an envelope, clearly marked, by Friday 5th October please, to enable us to order the fruit. Any payments made by cheque, should be payable to Paddox Primary School.
If you would like your child to participate in this scheme please complete the attached slip and send in with your money.
Harvest Assembly
This will take place on Friday 19th October at 9.15 a.m. We are no longer able to use St Georges Church because of their fire restrictions. We would still like to do a whole school harvest assembly and so for the first time we are going to use the Oak site hall. We do however need to know how many parents are likely to come, to help us with seating arrangements. Please complete the slip attached.
School Photographs will be taken on Friday 5th October. Children on the Oak site will be taken across to the Acorn site, to also have their photograph taken with siblings.
FOPS
Thank you to everyone who supported the car boot sale last weekend. We raised £75.
After School Clubs
When children have attended after school activities, they are not allowed to climb over the fence to gain access to their garden to get home quicker. All children have to leaver the site in the proper manner.
Parking outside school
We have been asked by the Police to remind you that cars should not be parked outside school on yellow zig-zag lines or within 15 metres of a junction (as specified in the highway code!) Police officers will be initiating random patrols and after a possible first warning, will be issuing parking tickets. This is part of their work in the local area.
Updating Our Records
We are in the process of updating our records and are sending home a pink sheet with the details that we hold for your child. Please check these carefully, make any amendments, and sign and return the form as soon as possible. (We do not require e-mail addresses). It is important that we have at least two phone numbers as emergency contacts for your child please. Obviously these should be local numbers and not a Grandma who lives in Birmingham!
In line with Local Authority policy we have also updated the ‘Digital Images' permission form. Your child should be bringing this home shortly. Please complete one for each of your children.
Plans for Building Work
Thank you to the parents who sent back replies about the proposed consolidation onto one site. Some parents have asked about the plans. We have sent in ideas about what we want and are waiting for these to be confirmed. They should include a green travel plan and improvements to the access of the Oak site, to make it safer for everyone.
Spare Clothes
We are running short of spare clothes (in case of accidents!) on the Acorn site. If anyone has spare pants, socks, trousers, or skirts we should be very grateful. Please take them to the office.
