FOPS The Friends of Paddox School will be meeting on Tuesday 4th March at 8.00 p.m. at the Paddox Pub to discuss forthcoming events. As always anyone is welcome. The more the merrier – all inspiration, help and support are greatly needed.

Easter – There is a large Easter Bunny soft toy that needs a name and a home! It will be taken around the classrooms over the next two weeks and for 20p the children can choose a name for him/her. The winning name will be drawn from a hat.

There will also be an Easter bonnet or Easter garden competition. Any children feeling creative can make a bonnet with an Easter theme, or an Easter garden. The garden can be made in a box lid or baking tray, but the container should be no larger than this. There will be prizes of Easter Eggs for every year group.

All competition entries must be taken to the year group’s shared area by Friday 14th March.

Quiz – There will be a quiz night for adults on Thursday 17th April. It will be teams of 6 and wine and nibbles will be available. More details to follow after the FOPS meeting.

Plants – As in previous years there will be a bedding plants sale. Letters and an order form will be coming home shortly with more details.

School Sport – As this is such a short half term, it is making it incredibly busy with after school and week-end matches. Well done to the cross country runners who have done very well in their trials.

Year 6 are receiving some Tag Rugby coaching. Good luck to the school football team in the quarter final of the cup and the netball team who play next week in the tournament.

Book Fair – There is a book fair next week. Books will be on display in the entrance hall after school all next week. You are welcome to come into school with your child/ren to choose books.

Leaving/Moving House – If you know, or think that your child might be leaving Paddox School next term, could you please let Mrs Hall or Mrs Townsend know. We have started having enquiries regarding places for the September term and therefore we need to know who is, or might be leaving the school, to ascertain the places that might be available.

Parents Evenings – These will take place on Monday 17 March between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. OR Tuesday 18th March between 3.30 p.m. and 5.30 p.m.

This will be an opportunity for you to talk with your child’s teacher and to discuss how your child is getting on, in the same way as other years. Books will be available for parents to look at. Each interview will last approximately 5 minutes. Should you need more time a further appointment could be made at a later date.
