Parent Teacher Interviews
These will take place next half term on Tuesday 27th March between 3.30 and 6.00 p.m. and Thursday 29th March between 5.00p.m. and 8.00 p.m.
Bad Weather
When it is icy our temporary caretaker puts salt down on the main footpaths to the doors on both sites. Please can I ask Acorn site parents to keep to the path on mornings when the weather is poor, because it is simply not possible to clear paths to all doors. Please note that this is a path to the main door, not the one used by Year 2. Can I also remind parents that the car parks are not salted and they should not be used to gain access to school.
Parents are NOT allowed to drive up the drive on the Oak site to collect children from school.
Tag Rugby
After half term, Year 6 will be having a series of coaching sessions, learning how to play tag Rugby . They start on Monday 19 th February. A team from the school will take part in a tournament before Easter.
Visit to St Georges Church
Some of the classes in the school have been to visit St Georges Church, to see the display and activities taking place there this week.
Outdoor Area
This term and next term we will be working on making improvements to the outdoor area in the centre of the Acorn site. We have also been working on making changes to the learning environment in Year 1.
Friends of the School
Just a reminder that there is a meeting of the Friends of the School tomorrow at 2.00 p.m. in the Acorn site library. We have had somebody who has expressed an interest in leading FOPS. Following on from the success of last years fete, we would like to plan one for this year and need to start doing this fairly soon. Please come along to the meeting if you can help in any way.
Dance Workshop
This Thursday all the children in Key Stage 2 will be taking part in dance workshops and they will be learning different dances from around the world.
Theatre Company in School
On Tuesday 20th February we will be having a Theatre Company in school. They will be performing “The Enchanted Book Tower”.
Update on 1H
Mrs Holman is still unwell and will be away until at least half term. Mrs Clark has kindly agreed to continue with 1H until then.
Press Releases
During the last two weeks Paddox Primary School has had a mention in two of the local papers. A big thank you to everyone who contributed to our collection after the Christmas performances. We raised £570 for the Air Ambulance.
Congratulations to Laura Beck in Year 6, who won first prize in the Rugby Art Gallery and Museum competition, to design a logo for a Rugby shirt.
Fruit Scheme on the Oak site
If you would like your child to have fruit at morning break each day for the next half term please complete the slip below and return it to school with £3.00 (50p per week) by the end of next week. We must have advanced notice as the fruit has to be ordered at least a week in advance.
Football Kit Competition
T W Tyres in Paynes Lane are running a competition to provide a football kit for a nominated school. We are included the list of nominated schools. All you have to do is purchase tyres or exhausts from them and ask for your vote to be entered into the draw. Further details can be obtained from T W Tyres.
