Today we carried out an investigation to learn about the flow of a river.  First, we created a mound of sand in a tray.  Then we placed big and small rocks on top of the sand and held the tray at an angle.  Slowly, we poured water over the sand to create our very own river flow.  We learnt that the flow of a river will always go downhill but that the water can take different routes.  In addition, as the water flows, mud, sand and rocks will get pulled along in the flow of the water.
