Year 3's day out at Rugby School

Racing across the Close!

It's been a busy week for Year 3 this week! We had the trip to Rugby School on Wednesday, followed by World Book Day on Thursday.

Rugby School

The day began with year 3 being taken off one by one, by Lower Sixth pupils to complete a quiz (whilst all us adults were left a bit lost!). During the morning, they got to have a go at activities such as drama, sports, problem solving, science, computing, languages, music and photography.

The afternoon began in the Temple Speech Rooms with the presentation of some prizes for the quiz (well done Jilly and Jack!) after which, we were treated to a concert where the children were mesmerised by the music and singing performed by some of the Rugby School pupils. We ended the day with a race across The Close with other Year 3 pupils from schools in Rugby.

World Book Day

The children really enjoyed dressing up and parading around the hall for the rest of the school to show off their amazing costumes. We learned about 'Cautionary Tales' where children are told the (silly) consequesnces of naughty behaviour. We wrote our own cautionary tales to share with Year 6. Ask the children to tell you what would happen if you run off from your nanny, or if you pick your nose, or forget to brush your teeth. You might find they have some silly answers!

Homework

Homework is once again at the bottom of this blog post for anyone who has misplaced it.
