Field Trip

Sketching a physical environment.

On Wednesday, Year 3 went on a geography field trip to the disused railway line. Here they sketched man-made and physical objects and looked at how the physical environment has started to reclaim the man-made one since the railway closed in 1966 (thanks to Charlotte's dad for this information!). We walked all the way to St Andrew's Benn School near the railway station so we were pretty tired by the time we got back to school!

On Friday we all went on a tag rugby competition at St Andrew's rugby ground. We played four games against other schools and had fun learning some of the rules of rugby. Who knows, maybe someday we'll have produced a rugby star of the future? Certainly some children seemed to really enjoy the experience and surprised themselves at how good they were!

A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped us on these two trips. And just as the children have discovered previously hidden talents on the rugby field, maybe we have one or two budding coaches amongst our parents ???
