15th to the 19th June
A busy week in Year 2!
Hello!
We have had a particularly busy week in Year 2 this week!
On Monday we went to the Football Festival at Kilsby Lane Football club where the children had a fantastic morning! We spent the morning in groups and took turns at either football games or skills activities. There were children there from other schools too, they all showed excellent sportsmanship and everyone tried their best which was lovely to see.
This week in Food technology we made soup to great success! The children enjoyed learning about how to chop vegetables, some of us even finding out what an onion looks like with the skin on! The children enjoyed forest school in the lovely weather, please do see Mr Clement’s blog for any more information.
On Wednesday the children had a visit from an author, Jason Moss, who read them some of his work. The children all really enjoyed this and came back full of information about his books, all about Smell & Bogey and the magic carpet!
We have been learning what a cinquain poem is today (which is all about syllables). This was really fun as we got to find out how many syllables there were in our names, Mrs Le Poidevin, who was visiting 2AM, was the winner with 6 syllables!
We have been continuing to learn about Escher and his artwork, this afternoon we are trying to tessellate a lizard image in his style – wish us luck!
Please don’t forget that all Zoo trip letters need to be in school by Wednesday 24th June, if you have misplaced the letter it is on the website for your viewing. We will send more information out about the day closer to the time.
We celebrated Alexander, George, Roxy, Max, Ben and Amber in assembly this week.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the nice weather.
From Year 2.
