We have had a brilliant day for Pyjamarama, celebrating reading and creating amazing artwork. Our focus text was “Journey” by Aaron Becker. The fun fact about this book is that there are no words in it, which gave the children in Year 2 a brilliant opportunity to take turns telling the story verbally and developing their oracy skills. We then asked the children to create some artwork inspired by the story, where they had to think about where their own magic crayon (from the story) would take them. We then enjoyed an afternoon as a cohort creating our own magic doors with giant chalks!
