Autumn Week 9
Pointillism
This week we have continued with our untraditional tale “The Pea and the Princess”. We have thought about the four different sentence types (command, statement, explanation and question) and use these in our writing. We imagined we were the pea and came up with how we would save the day! Everyone really loved the story and the happy ending. Next week we will be starting our new topic of ‘Fables’, beginning with “The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse”.
In Art we have continued with our pointillism work, the children starting to create some absolute masterpieces. We will continue with this next week.
In Numeracy we have been thinking about doubling numbers and repeated addition (3+3+3+3). We’ve used lots of different methods to help us do this, mainly using items repeatedly or number lines. Next week we’re going to be thinking about capacity, mass and height and length.
In Science we’ve been investigating the properties of different materials. We looked at if they could bend or stretch. We also came up with a shelter idea using a material that was strong and waterproof.
There were some lovely outfits today for Children in Need, lots of lovely bear ears about!
Don’t forget that next Tuesday (14th November) will be individual photo day.
