Spring Week 12

Last Week!

The final week of the Spring Term! Hopefully next term we’ll see a massive improvement in the weather! Fingers crossed!

On Monday afternoon we watched Year 3 do their dress rehearsal for their performance. It was all about Eddie the Penguin saving the world.

This week we have been writing a recount of our trip to Holdenby House. We mind mapped everything we remember doing and looked at the photos. Then we planned our recounts, thinking about the vocabulary we may want to use and time words (next, then, first, after that). We’re all trying really hard with our handwriting at the moment; hopefully we will see an increase of children with pen licenses next term.

In Numeracy this week we’ve been looking at estimating and problem solving. In particular we’ve thought about explaining our answers clearly using our reasoning skills.

On Thursday we investigated biscuits and how quickly they would dissolve when dunked! We really enjoyed doing this experiment – although sadly we didn’t get to eat any biscuits. Also on Thursday Explore learning (from Sainsbury’s) came to do some writing with us in the hall which was really fun.

Reminder:

Summer term starts again on Monday 16th April.

Class photos are on Wednesday 18th April.
