Sixties Week
This week in Year 3 we travelled back to the Sixties and had a glimpse at what life was like back then! In Design Technology we designed and created a piece of sixties inspired bunting! Our inspiration came mainly from fashion, England winning the World Cup and the first man landing on the moon.
In Art, we found out about David Hockney, and had fun experimenting with colour mixing. Using only primary colours we recreated one of David Hockney's paintings, with each of us painting our own specific part of the painting but on a larger scale! It was challenging but we enjoyed it!
In Music, we created our own percussion instruments and learned all about Elvis Presley - some of us had never heard of him! We performed 'Return to Sender' with our own actions to Mrs Le Poidevin at 'Le Poid Stock'.
We've had a very busy and creative week - and have enjoyed every minute! We are looking forward to half-term to recharge, before we are back Ready, Respectful and Safe to learn. We wonder what amazing experiences we will have in store next half-term!
