Pentecost at St George's

Last week, Year 5 spent an afternoon at church learning about and celebrating the Pentecost which is celebrated on the Sunday 50 days after Easter.

We went to Church, with the ability to say 'Jesus is Alive' in different languages - some were tricky, some were really tricky and some languages were incredibly tricky!!

We role-played the story of Pentecost, and looked at how God could be denoted in Water, Fire and Wind. We talked about the importance of each, and what we could use each for.

Our classrooms have been turned into courtrooms this week as part of our work in Literacy where we have continued to read Montmorency. We held a mock trial - a theft at Steven O'Keefe's house - with one main suspect, which then, as we asked more questions, turned into two main suspects - who dunnit? We'll find out next week!

We also had a visit from Simon and Jonny from Rugby Youth for Christ who talked about how we can protect and look after the world and superheroes too!!

Just another exciting week in Year 5!
