Owl pellet dissection

Today, during Science, we looked at the life cycle of owls and learnt about their food chain. We learnt that owls often eat small mammals such as rats, mice and voles and sometimes there are some materials they can't  digest such as bones and fur. Due to them not being about to disgest these, they regurgitate them in the form of a pellet.

We studied what the pellets looked like and the size of them and identified that they were from a barn owl. We had great fun dissecting them and finding lots of different bones! One group even found a skull of a small mammal!
