Autumn Week 6
Magical Places Between
This week in Create we have been creating our own magical places between. We’ve written wonderful descriptions about them and have also created them using wax crayons, colourwash paint and collage. The children really got stuck into the collaging, the classrooms looked very messy but we all really enjoyed it!
In Science we’ve gone into the outdoors and planted some tulip and daffodil bulbs. We looked closely at the inside of the bulbs to see how they work.
In Numeracy we’ve been using lots of resources to help us. We’ve practised our number bonds using tens frames (see the picture above) and have begun to learn to use the bar model method. We’ve been learning this using cubes first which has really helped us understand the value of the numbers.
Next week we are coming off timetable to focus on our DT projects. Thank you to everyone who has already sent in a shoebox for the project. If you haven’t, could you please make sure they’re in school by Monday. Also, if you have an spares you’d like to donate we’d really appreciate them…
