The beginning of the circus!
Art, DT, Create and Science!
This week we have enjoyed starting our Circus topic in Create. We have been using the books “Circus” by Peter Spires and “Clown” by Quentin Blake, both of which have wonderful illustrations. We have also looked at a short clip from Madagascar 3 to inspire us to think about what we would like to learn about the circus.
We have begun to make watercolour pictures in the style of E. H. Shepard during art, using circus animals as our theme. These will take a few weeks to complete as there are lots of stages! We also made split pin circus puppets in DT.
We have begun our Science topic for this half term, which is all about materials.
Homework is going home this week. This is the same format as last year, and is still due in on the Wednesday of the following week. We have also made a request for all children to bring in a cardboard shoe box by Wednesday. This is for their Circus DT project that we plan to begin. Thank you in advance for your help with this!
Congratulations to Elliot M, Sammy and Verity from 2M and Cara, Nathan B and Pauline from 2K who were all celebrated in assembly this week.
