Year 6 Writers Scoop Online Safety Award

A story about online identity and why it's important to Act Your Age.

We're very proud to announce that a group of Year 6 writers has won the Warwickshire ICT Development Service's KS2 Online Safety Story Competition 2016. Working collaboratively through  each and every stage of plot and character development, storyboarding, editing and final voiceover work, Sakeenah, Niamh, Ellie and Joe crafted a powerful story about the dangers of social media.

Here's what the judges had to say:

"Wow! Almost a professional standard there. I loved the story, the animation and the music. I liked the way you used the voices in the head to help show how difficult it can be to stay safe. I thought your story would really appeal to other primary school children."

"What a superb story with thought provoking voices, it certainly makes you think about the different dilemma's, young people face. I hope she listens to the Blue Voice in the future. A very professional piece of work with some great team work."

"You really are the Guild of Extraordinary Writers! This was absolutely fantastic. A very strong safety message, within a story that wasn't too scary for other children to watch. You should be very proud of this film. It was exceptional."

"Well done. You have really thought about what can happen if you don't follow e-safety advice. I hope other children in your school can read this and learn the important message you have demonstrated."

"Very good story, well presented - very professional looking. Dark material but ideal for KS2 and getting a serious message across."
