Year 4 have been having an exciting week learning all about playscripts. The children have analysed examples of playscripts and learnt what literary features they should find when reading one. As Year 4 were up for the challenge, they even converted a passage from story 'The Invention of Hugo Cabret' into a playscript! The children made good use of all the features they had been learning about and spicing up their writing with interesting vocabulary.

In Science Year 4 have been exploring the world of sound and looking at the relationship between volume and distance. Despite chilly weather, Year 4 braved on and out to the field to test their predictions, apart from a few soggy socks and cold noses our young scientists appetites for knowledge had been satisfied.  

In Numeracy Year 4 have focused on their 9 and 6 times tables, looking at different ways in which to grow in confidence with their times tables. We have used some interesting methods this week to further secure our understanding. Some children even found a second use for their 3 times tables when it came to spotting a quicker way to understand their 6's!
