Beautiful Brooches
Is it brooches (with a long ‘oo’) or brooches (with a short ‘oo’)? It was a source of debate in class this week – and you thought it was only in the Houses of Parliament where the big questions get answered!
We looked at Anglo-Saxon brooches and looked at the characteristics they have in common. We identified that they were all round, symmetrical and patterned with 5 jewels. We designed and made our own, larger than life brooches using sequins, beads and paper plates!
